The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Moazzam Jah Ansari today visited Peshawar Police Lines where he inspected the security measures adopted for different police units there in the wake of Peshawar 30th January blast.
Chief Capital City Peshawar, SSP Operations Peshawar and other high ranking officers accompanied the IGP on the occasion. During the visit the IGP had to pass through various security phases and walk through gates. The entry clearance of the IGP was given after the scanning of IGP’s vehicle on which the IGP expressed full satisfaction. CCPO Peshawar while briefing the IGP about the entry to police lines informed the coordinated and centralized security of the police lines. The IGP was further informed that police personnel and general public have to pass through different security steps and phases. The IGP was also informed about the layered security i-e installations of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) for visitors, body search and intelligent deployment of personnel for security. During his visit to CTD unit, the DIG CTD briefed the IGP about the progress in the case. The IGP also went to the buildings of FRP, Tele Communication and SSU CPEC, where he threadbarly reviewed the security arrangements and apparatus.
Later on, the IGP visited the site of the blast and reviewed the SOP put place for entering into the Mosque for prayers. CCPO Peshawar elaborated the security plan on the occasion. On his return from the visit the IGP stayed on the entry gate of police lines for quite some time and checked the entry procedure. The IGP shook hands with the gate security guards and issued necessary instructions for performing duty with high alertness.
